A mountain road-running ascent on asphalt from the city of Granada up into Sierra Nevada, finishing near the summit of Pico Veleta along the highest paved road in Europe. Billed as one of the toughest races in the world, it dates from 1985. Best suited to experienced, well-prepared endurance runners.
